Patient Centered Care at its Best: Shared Decision Making (CE Nurse)

Program Summary: When treatment options are explored with communication and input from both the patient and the provider, health care is advanced and enhanced. There is a new emerging system of collaborative and consistent health care that involves the patient at the center with coordination among clinical, social, public health and government to provide exemplary care.

OBJECTIVES

1. Participants will learn how to improve communications among caregivers and healthcare providers through shared decision making
2. Participants will learn how to partner with advocacy organizations to secure free medically accurate and patient friendly materials
3. Participants will learn how advocacy organizations may support their local, regional and national efforts to enhance policies to help families
